The really really free market will take place every second and fourth Saturday in July, August, and September in the parking lot of Bresee Nazarene Church at 1480 E. Washington Blvd. in Pasadena. It will take place from 9 am to 1 pm.
BONUS FREE MARKET
There will be a RRFM at the Altadena Church of the Nazarene at 9 W Mendocino St in Altadena, CA on Saturday, August 4 from 9 am to 1 pm.
What is a Really Really Free Market (RRFM)?
It is like a yard sale, except everything is FREE. There is no bartering, trading, buying or selling. It is also a place for you to share your talents and skills.
How do I participate in the RRFM?
Show up. If you find something you need or want, take it.
If you have something you don’t need or want, bring it.
If you have a talent or skill, bring it. Bring your drum and start a drum circle, or bring your guitar and teach someone a few chords. If you cut hair, bring your tools. If you love to play chess, bring your board. If you want to do an interpretive dance, bring your leotard. Recite a poem, sing a song, teach someone how to build a birdhouse.
Leave business cards at home. The RRFM is non-commercial.
Tell your friends, especially those in need. All are welcome, and nothing is reserved for those with “discretionary income.”
If you have an idea for the RRFM, bring it or contact John at jbloghry@aol.com. Hope to see you there!
Because there's enough for everyone.
Because sharing is more fulfilling than owning.
Because corporations would rather have the landfills overflow
than have anyone get anything for free.
Because scarcity is a myth constructed to keep us at the mercy of the economy.
Because a sunny day outside is better than anything money could buy.
Because "free trade" is a contradiction in terms.
Because no one should have to do without food, shelter, entertainment or community.
Because life should be a picnic, but it only will be if we make it happen.
